A playful side project: an interactive tool to explore expected goals (xG) across Premier League teams and seasons.
Expected goals (xG) has quietly become the most useful number in football — a measure of chance quality that cuts through the noise of who actually scored on the day.
The idea: an interactive explorer for Premier League xG — over- and under-performance by team and season, shot maps, and “who got lucky” tables. A break from the grid, and a good excuse to play with a different dataset.
